Why We Use the King James (Authorized) Version (KJV)
No, we are not strictly “King James Only.” Our reasons for using the KJV in this ministry are simple…
- Poetic: In our opinion, no other version matches the KJV for its balance of accuracy and beauty. There are other translations that could be considered more technically accurate (the NASB, for example), but they lose the poetic beauty the KJV has. More worship hymns have been based in “KJV English” than any other version.
- Historic: More revivals and awakenings (in the English language) have occured with the KJV than any other version.
- Consistency: We chose to only use the KJV so all the Bible verse images and references would remain consistent.
- Practical: The KJV is in the public domain, and therefore is free for us to use (and we don’t have to worry about lawyers).
- Distinctive: By using the KJV, our prayer is God will use our ministry to encourage and revive you. KJV English is no longer the vernacular language, and because of this, if KJV English (a Bible verse) is suddenly placed in the center stage of your thinking, we hope that it is the Lord using a verse we’ve shared to stand–out, encourage and help you.
